A very big welcome to OUR jungle, Jim

During the tailgate pre-party: left to right in most of these are Jungle legends Sean the Cablinasian &
Silk (Braaa) on the air with WDFN dudes Jamie (in white) & Brady (in grey); Silk's the one in the Foster
Grants and Cade McNown's UCLA gear; their appearance on the Stony & Wojo show the day before was hilarious in that their sly takes and
comical comebacks far outshone Stony and Wojo stand-in Terry Foster's bits: at one point, Silk
actually said "ba-dum-bum" following one of Foster's attempts at humour. Sign these guys to contracts FAST.
The Pistons babes
One~fisted dual~beer~drinkin' Uncle Sam watches the TailgatePartyShop chix bestow beads without popping tops
Steve's TailgatePartyShop tent (he's on the right in blue)
Yep, it's the "official" Silk sign all right ~ and a few "cans" were indeed displayed (no deposit, no return)
DMac's band, "Grinder," was off the chart
"Ain't nothin' like a mother-f#@kin' Detroit party!"
Shameless "Bud Light" plug (looked like Darren was drinking Heineken tho') or a light-hearted rip on Mac's
buddy, Bobby Higginson? Reportedly Higgy was in the crowd to check out the band. This while Silk and the Cablinasian had
clones lined up for their autographs and Bobby stood alone, untouched. Not as odd as you'd think. Thanks
to the Detroit Sports Rag for this
OneFifthinson sighting (and from whom I appropriated the Higgy nom du jour, OneFifthinson ~ based on his salary being one-fifth
of your '03 Detroit Tigers' total payroll)...
"Perhaps you haven't seen my 'Village People' impersonation..."
So did Mac like the pix? You betcha. And is this a D-Town cat or what? Just re-signed for (likely) less money
than he might've found elsewhere (but still a good wage), played for a solid one hour-plus set for a drunken
throng, did his level best to deflect said morons from their "Sergei Sucks!" chants by saying "Hey -- don't
hate like that" and answers his own email at 2:30 in the morning. D's comment about the sweater stems from a
remark I made in identifying myself to his female videographer: "I was the guy in #25 who *didn't* grab DMac's
leg and fling my jersey at him while he was singing"...
DFN's Sean Baligian and the "Card Girls"
The Rome set, ready to explode
Van Smack makes his initial appearance ~ from the start you can see that he's literally blown away
"D-Town! WHAT... IS... UP?!"
Clones jumping up and down prevent these pix of Ernie Harwell from not sucking
DMac moves toward the stage with a "Card Girl" & Romie greets him
"Sergei who?!"
The Bad Boys in the VIP backstage area: Mahorn, Laimbeer & the Microwave (Vinnie's in the cool ice blue shirt)
"Hey little hottie ~ ya know I think you could play really small forward for The Shock! Whaddya say
you and I get a beer after the show to discuss it? And maybe you could run and get me one while I'm onstage!"
Laimbeer steals the thunder when Rome asks the boyz about "the shot" (Vinnie's, to seal the first of the Pistons'
two NBA championships), by making a lame WNBA Shock reference ~ and then asking the "Card Girl" above to bring him
a beer. She does. Sing along with me: "~Billy the red-nosed LameBeer~"... not worse than Ricky's enormous
ass (Rome's words, not mine ~ I still have to live here), but pretty pathetic ~ even for Bill...
